In our hospital, the 3rd level intensive care follow-up and treatment of neonatal and premature babies (especially babies below 1500 grams and 32 weeks) are carried out by our neonatologist. Eye examinations (ROP), surgery for troubled babies, neurosurgery operations such as meningomyelocele (waist opening) and hydrocephalus (water accumulation in the head) are performed, and post-operative intensive care follow-up and treatment are provided.
Follow-up of premature babies after graduation is as important as intensive care follow-ups. We call the discharge of premature babies from our hospital as "graduation". Because these babies first learn to breathe, then they learn to live without oxygen, then to feed and, in short, to live. Finally, they graduate from our neonatal intensive care school.
Premature and problematic babies continue to be followed up after they graduate from intensive care. Because these babies have their own vaccinations, feeding patterns, growth and development follow-ups, special examinations, child neurology follow-ups, eye examinations. All these follow-ups are carried out by our experienced ophthalmologist and pediatric neurologist under the supervision of our hospital's neonatologist.
